A brief intro to yourself: I'm Kevin Nielsen, the founder of Boardroom, a company that supports governance for over 350 DAOs and protocols. With years of experience building governance infrastructure and tools for decentralized organizations, I’m passionate about fostering robust and transparent governance systems. My background gives me a unique perspective on the technical and community aspects of decentralized governance.

A message to the community and ecosystem:

As a delegate, I bring several years of hands-on experience working with governance systems across various DAOs and protocols. My main focus will be on making Scroll’s governance more transparent and functional. Specifically, I can contribute by helping to identify areas where governance processes are slowing down decision-making and offering practical solutions to streamline them.

I'll also work to reduce information gaps for the average community member, making governance updates and decisions more accessible and easier to follow. I understand the challenges builders and tokenholders face in navigating complex governance structures, and I'll focus on ensuring Scroll’s governance remains adaptable, efficient, and inclusive. I aim to help the Scroll community stay informed and engaged through clear communication and direct action.

Based on my experience working with DAOs, I’ve seen how critical it is to develop clear accountability mechanisms that hold both delegates and decision-makers responsible for their actions. Governance systems should not only track voting behavior and participation but also offer mechanisms for stakeholders to understand how resources are being allocated. By introducing new models of accountability and resource distribution, such as token-weighted compensation systems or delegate performance metrics, we can ensure that the protocol operates efficiently and fairly for all participants.

My goal is to help make governance easier to understand and more accessible for everyone, not just big players. I believe we need to stop being afraid of trying new things in governance. Sticking to the same old processes because "that's how it's always been" can hold a project back. In my experience, it’s the protocols that take risks—whether it’s testing out new voting models or creating more flexible systems—that end up discovering what works best for their community. Scroll has the chance to experiment with fresh ideas and actually see what makes governance better for everyone, and I’d love to help push that forward.
